Welcome to Keyesport, Illinois...

Come and visit our small village nestled away in Illinois on Carlyle Lake, the largest lake in Illinois consisting of 26,000 acres of water. During the day you can take a picnic lunch to our relaxing beach full of sand or hit the water and enjoy some fishing, boating, water skiing, or just cruising around the lake. When the night time comes and the stars are out join us around the camp fire for roasting marshmallows and cooking some hotdogs.

All you need is a camper or just pitch a tent at one of our campgrounds. If campfire cooking is not your style try one of our fine resturants known to have some of the best food around. Our restaurants serve food from fried chicken and steak to shrimp and crawfish.. whether you like camping, boating, fishing, picnicing,, swimming, or hunting this is the place to be. When being laid back is your weekend goal, we're the playing field.

Our History

Keyesport is one of the oldest towns in Illinois. It was platted April 16, 1846, and incorporated as a village in 1897. The Village then elected its first board of trustees. Minor disasters faced the village in the early 1930ís including the Great Depression and a fire that burned down the village school. The new school was completed in 1935 and on through the 1940ís and 1950ís there were Blacksmith shops, banks and more. In 1963 the village substantiates a first district as well as a city water and sewer district.
